DAVE CODLING     MAHA DEV  

Before he became a professional musician with Quintessence, Dave studied the Fine Arts at the Leeds College of Art 1959-63. He won a post graduate Scholarship to the Royal Academy Schools 1963-66. He was also a teacher and made some exhibitions in the U.K. After Quintessence and Kala,  Dave went to live in the States where he worked both as a musician and painter developing both artistic and musical talents. He lived in the Hills around Hollywood  for nearly 15 years cherishing the rock and roll lifestyle and the great weather! Dave returned to his native Yorkshire in 1995 where he is very happy, living in his own house, painting and playing music with his friends. 

MAHA DEV is a regular guest on the SHIVA SHAKTI Album SHIVA SHAKTI and SHIVA'S QUINTESSENCE COSMIC SURFER.

Since 2008 Mahadev has been fronting his own version of Quintessence, called Mahadev's Quintessence.

After a short illness, Mahadev left this physical plane on July 5, 2019. He is sorely missed. Jai Jai Mahadev!
